Calm Place

As the Holiday Season is upon us I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas! Many find this a difficult season for a variety of reasons so I would like to encourage you all to remember the reason for the season. It is not what the TV/Internet or Holiday vendors have to say but rather it is about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

I encourage you all to go to your calm place and relax and breathe when you feel out of sorts and overwhelmed by the demands of the world. If you do not have a calm place let’s make one now:

Think of a real or imaginary place where you feel calm, peaceful and relaxed. A place where only you are present, no friends, family, pets…just you…

This may be a picture from a magazine or a scene from a wonderful vacation or wished for vacation or just a place you create….

Get the picture in your head…..

What do you see?

What do you smell?

What do you feel?

How does your body feel right now when you think of this place? Are you relaxed?

When you have this picture in your head, close your eyes and visualize it and say “I am ok, I am doing the best I can”

Follow with some breathing (blog #2)

Please practice your calm place many times a day until you can get there any time you feel stressed, upset or angry. This is your place, a place of calm just for you.
